Governor Ayodele Fayose yesterday met with all Ekiti pastors in the state in a fellowship with God Almighty at the government’s office open ground in Ado Ekiti.
In attendance were, the governor, Mr Peter Ayo Fayose; the first lady, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose; Deputy Governor, Dr Olubunmi Olusola and his wife, Mrs Janet Olusola; Secretary to the state Government, Dr. Modupe Alade; Chief of staff, Barrister Dipo Anisulowo; Government house chaplain, Pastor Seyi Olusola among others.
It was a session with God as Government house choir lead everybody in the praise and worship.
Speaking at the prayer session, Bishop Peter Ogunkile who is the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) president describe the day as a unique and appointed day by God.
He described the governor as a man chosen by God for Ekiti at this critical time, he equally thanked the governor specially on behalf of CAN for recognizing the servants of God.
The governor who lead the prayer session said any church without testimonies is a dead church.
Governor Fayose said he would never take God for granted in his dealing and will never worship any man made gods “Any day i worship strange god, my enemies will conquer me” the governor said.
The governor asked for peoples prayer over his family as he ask the pastors to help him make the fellowship a continue process.
Governor Fayose said Pastors alone with prayers would turn around the fortune of the whole country while he predicted a tough year 2016 financially.
He called on the cleric to partner him in developing the state ‘’in running this Government well, pastors must be involved” and the governor promised that government will be opened to everyone.
He assured the pastors that they would not be levied on tax but implore them to always tell their people the need to pay tax in their various business as the civil servants pay tax deducted directly from their salaries. [EKSG]
