…Laments Aregbesola six years of disaster
A civil rights group under the auspices of Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has revealed how the State governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, flew the sum of N2billon Osun State Ecological funds to Ondo State in support of the candidate of their new party, the Alliance for Democracy(AD), Mr. Olushola Oke before and during the Saturday 26th,November,2016 governorship election in the State.
The Civil group also revealed that the fund has been in the custody of the former Special Adviser and now Consultant on Environmental Sanitation to Governor Aregbesola, Mr. Bola Ilori who doubles as the Director- General of Olusola Oke Campaign Organization, seeking the thorough and credible investigation of these funds being taken to Ondo State on frivolities which has no positive impact on the lives of the State masses by the anti-graft agencies, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
It describes Aregbesola six years in office as the State governor of the State as a disaster and embodiment of corruption, during which mass of our people have been inflicted with hunger and calamities, lamenting the capital flight of the State funds to Lagos State and neighbouring States by Aregbesola since six years of his administration in Osun State.
Commenting on the Six years anniversary of Aregbesola in office, through a statement signed by the CSCEOS’ Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi Sulaiman, which a copy was made available to newsmen on Friday, stated that the six years of the present administration in office was nothing to write home about, saying that all the acclaimed fraudulent and moribund developmental projects embarked upon by the State government were with the great social cost and pain.
It insisted that Aregbesola has been rule the State as sole administrator without members of the State Executive Council in the last two (2) years of his second term in office, adding that the State government was still owing Ten(10) and eleven(11) months’ salary and pension due arrears to the workers and retirees alike respectively.
According to the group; “It is surprised that the State government under the watch of Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola which its gasping for breeding financially and still owing Ten (10) and eleven (11) months’ salary and pension due arrears to the workers and retirees alike respectively, could still dig his hand into the Ecological funds of the State for sponsoring of Alliance for Democracy (AD) candidate, Mr. Olusola Oke, in the November 2016 Ondo State governorship election with the sum of N2billon.This is high time for the anti-graft agencies, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent
Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
“It is disastrous to have Mr. Rauf Aregbesola as the governor of Osun State in the last six years, the mass of our people have been inflicted with the hunger, miserable diseases, poverty, homelessness, and squalor. The administration had also been laced with corruption, capital flight, groan, tears, and burden of domestic and foreign debt and chronic shortchange of the masses with anti-peoples policies.
Signed:
Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman,
Chairman, Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS)
