The Minister of Health, Khaliru Alhassan, on Friday inaugurated an emergency team to handle medical response during the weeklong inauguration activities to usher in the administration of General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on May 29.
The team will deploy 14 ambulances to serve areas such as the National Mosque, National Christian Centre, the Airport, Banquet Hall and the Eagle Square.
They will also be on duty throughout the inauguration period.
The team consists emergency response teams from the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA), National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Nigeria Police, Nigerian Army, Road Safety, among others.
An emergency operations plan, set up by the medical subcommittee of the Buhari Transition Committee, will guide the emergency team for response throughout the handover period next week Friday.
