Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle has said he has ordered his security agencies to arrest and prosecute anyone that is behind the killings in the state.
Because of the brutal killings, the governor has even vowed to arrest former governor Abdul’aziz Yari if the violence does not stop.
He revealed this on Friday, November 22, 2019, as he received firearms surrendered by repentant bandits at the Government House, Gusau.
His words, “I decided to take this action against the former governor because I observed that whenever he visited the state, there would be attacks and killing of innocent people immediately he left.”
“Security is the responsibility of all and I wonder why some people such as the former governor and his followers are not happy with the current development in which the security of the state has significantly improved.”
He added that the latest killings in Karaye village coincided with his predecessor’s visit, but that is too much coincidence.
Is he making sense?
