Ibinabo Fiberesima for the past few weeks has dominated the headlines following the dismissal of her appeal against the five year sentence by a Lagos High Court judge for reckless driving which resulted in the death of a staff of Lagos State hospital in 2006.
Following her incarceration, an eye witness of the accident who also claimed to have helped the actress escape some area boys revealed to Charles Novia that Ibinabo was driving Daniel Wilson’s car and was not to be blamed for the accident.
In an interview shared by movie producer and critic, Charles Novia, Daniel Wilson was called and he defended Ibinabo saying the actress was indeed driving his car and had also begged the family of the deceased contrary to what the late Dr Suraj Giwa’s sister had said.
According to him, “It was unfortunate that the accident happen but it was not intentional in anyway. And we have been begging the family of the late doctor. Who said we haven’t begged? I personally, made numerous visits to the house to see the widow and elders of the family. We attended the burial of the doctor. I was there. We begged and begged. Not because we think begging could bring the man back but just because it’s human nature to forgive. So, it’s not true that we remained aloof’ Daniel concluded.”
Mrs Biola Giwa-Adeyemi, sister of the late doctor killed in the accident caused by Ibinabo Fiberesima in an article shared Wednesday, March 16, 2016 claimed Ibinabo was never remorseful and refused to publicly apologize due to fear iof her career coming to an end.
