Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has declared that the state is now a one-party state, claiming that opposition parties have become non-existent.
Uzodinma made the assertion while welcoming the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, and other national party leaders who visited the state for the commissioning of newly constructed roads.
The governor attributed the APC’s dominance to its human-oriented projects, which he said had helped the party make significant inroads into rural areas, leading to its landslide victory in the recent local government elections.
‘APC Has Won Imo People’s Hearts’ – Uzodinma
“I can testify to you, Mr. Chairman, that as a party, we have won the hearts of Imo people through our superlative performance in the last five years,” Uzodinma said.
“The party has been fully entrenched here because the people can relate to our developmental initiatives,” he added.
The governor claimed that opposition parties in the state have faded away due to the visible progress made under his administration.
He insisted that the APC’s performance had silenced opposition voices, as evidenced by the party’s near-total victory in the State House of Assembly and local government elections.
‘Imo Is Back on Track Under APC’
“APC has brought the state back on track, and moving forward is the only assurance,” Uzodinma asserted.
He reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development and human capital growth, assuring the APC leadership that he would continue to deliver on his administration’s promises.
