According to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, a former Deputy President of the Senate, the Supreme Court’s ruling on the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has halted any wrangling over politics and leadership.
This statement was made by Senator Omo-Agege.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court verified and upheld the earlier verdict that had been handed down by the Court of Appeal.
Omo-Agege stated that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi enriched Nigeria’s jurisprudence by their participation in democratic litigation and contributed to the improvement of the electoral process.
Now that the legality of the Tinubu presidency has been validated by the Supreme Court, he is calling on all Nigerians, particularly politicians, to go to work on rehabilitating the country.
“What the Supreme Court did was not simply to affirm the validity of President Bola Tinubu’s mandate; [it is] a call to duty,” the justices said in their decision. By rendering their decision in a timely manner, the learned justices spared Nigeria the needless and protracted distractions that may have resulted from the case. As a result, we can now get on with the process of rebuilding our nation.
“Regardless of how any of the main characters may feel about the situation, this is not a win for President Tinubu alone or for any political party. “This is an admonition for all of us to work together toward restoring Nigeria to its former greatness,” Omo-Agege stated.
Mr. Sunny Areh, the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, issued a statement commending the Supreme Court and the whole judiciary for putting Nigeria first and preserving the rule of law. The message was delivered by his media adviser.
The fact that our Supreme Court has always maintained its impartiality and a reassuring demeanor toward the rest of the country is one of the most impressive aspects of our judicial system. This is especially true in light of all the difficulties that are currently being experienced by the nation. One such instance is presented here. Our nation’s justices deserve praise for the valuable service they provide to the nation.
“It is time to put politics aside and collaborate with President Tinubu to get Nigeria back on its feet,” the speaker said. It is now a responsibility that we owe to our people. It is in the best interest of the people, whom we all aspire to serve, for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi, as well as their respective political parties and followers, to support and collaborate with the President in order to get Nigeria back on track. This is not just because the Supreme Court is the final arbiter; rather, this is in the higher interest of the people. According to Omo-Agege.
