Johnny Depp has refused to pay the $6.8m (about N3.3b) as agreed in his divorce settlement with ex-wife, Amber Heard.
The Hollywood actor is holding back on paying Heard because of her letter about domestic violence, which defies the terms of their separation.
Multiple reports claim Heard never mentioned Depp by name in her letter about domestic violence for the December issue of the fashion magazine Porter, but it’s clear who she is referring to.
She wrote in the letter: ‘You are not alone, you may have suffered alone behind closed doors, but you are not alone. You need to know that.
I want to remind you of your strength, a strength that has been multiplied by the number of women who stand silently behind you – a truth that allowed me to break down the doors I once found myself behind.’

On May 27, 2016, five days after filing for divorce, Heard filed for a restraining order against Depp, stating in her court statement that the actor has been verbally and physically abusive to her during the entirety of their relationship.
‘I never felt anyone would or could rescue me, so naturally I resented the label of victim,’ the American actress added.
The estrange couple got married in February 2015 in a private ceremony in Los Angeles after four years of dating, but their marriage only lasted 15 months.
Their divorce was settled on August 16, with Heard receiving $6.8m, which she declared she was donating to American Civil Liberties Union and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
But Heard is yet to receive the money agreed in their divorce settlement.
New legal filing, obtained MailOnline, reveals that because of the cease, Heard’s legal team is hitting back with a formal ‘Request for Order’ to the judge in the case in the hope that it will force Depp to comply with the terms.
