In November, reports suggested Manchester United’s hopes of signing Tottenham’s Danny Rose had been boosted — and now report says Jose Mourinho “believes he will become United’s new first-choice left-back in a £50 million deal.”
It reports that the United manager “is increasingly confident of landing Rose either next month or during the summer.”
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino omitted Rose from his squad for the North London derby, sparking an angry reaction from the England defender.
And now reports says United — who had hoped to sign him in the summer — believe they can do so soon, although “agreeing a deal with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will be an arduous task.”
United are after a specialist left-back having been using Ashley Young in that position, with Luke Shaw struggling to find a way into Mourinho’s plans and tipped to leave on loan.
