RESTON, VA–(Marketwired – Jan 17, 2014) – Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG), one of the largest privately held cybersecurity services firms in the United States, today announced that it has been awarded the first task order off of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) contract vehicle. The task order is to deliver solutions from McAfee and BDNA, and has a total value of $8,543,986.
“The CDM Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) is the contract vehicle of choice for departments and agencies looking to implement a more comprehensive continuous monitoring program,” said Matt Brown, Vice President, Homeland Security and Cyber Solutions, KCG. “CDM continues to gain significant momentum with the appropriation of an additional $792 million in funding in the latest spending bill. We are proud to have secured one of the first task orders off of this critical vehicle.”
Under this task order, KCG will work with their sub-contractor, Govplace, to deliver McAfee’s ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) Central Management Infrastructure, Vulnerability Manager and VirusScan, as well as BDNA’s Normalize solution.
Issued by the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM), CDM provides all federal agencies as well as state, local, tribal and territorial governments with specialized information technology (IT) services and tools to help implement DHS’ CDM program. CDM aims to defend government networks from cyber attacks by providing continuous monitoring, diagnosis and mitigation tools, as well as Continuous Monitoring as a Service (CMaaS) capabilities.
“Continuous monitoring is an essential function to help agencies mitigate their cybersecurity risk,” said Dusty Wince, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, KCG. “We look forward to working with the agencies to implement the McAfee and BDNA solutions, adding another layer of controls to their security architectures.”
