The Kogi State Government has refuted claims circulating in some media outlets regarding the commencement of a teacher recruitment process in the state.
In a statement issued by the Executive Chairman of Kogi State Science, Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM), Mrs. Cecilia Cook, the government disassociated itself from the purported teacher recruitment and urged the public to disregard the information.
Mrs. Cook emphasized that the news of teacher recruitment in Kogi State was false and the handiwork of mischievous individuals seeking to defraud innocent job seekers.
She further clarified that any official recruitment information would be posted on the Commission’s official website, www.stetscom.kogistate.gov.ng, for the public’s consumption.
“We urge the people of Kogi State not to apply for such recruitment or pay money to anyone, as the Commission is not recruiting teachers in its secondary schools at the moment,” Mrs. Cook stated.
She also appealed to the public to provide relevant information that could help identify and apprehend those behind the misinformation, emphasizing the need to bring them to justice.
