In recent times, a good number of professional bodies, in recognition of his compassionate heart, have identified with Hon (Dr) Ladi Adebutu, Chairman, House Committee on Rural Development. One of them is National Artisans and Technicians Association, NATA, Ikoto Unit, Odogbolu Local Government.
At a meeting with the body held on July 4, 2017, at the association’s secretariat, Ikoto, Odogbolu, Hon Ladi, ably represented by Hon Kayode Adebayo, Ogun East Senatorial Chairman, enjoined the members to join hands to rescue Ogun State from the shackles of backwardness and inefficiency the APC government had subjected the state to since 2011.
Adebayo berated APC government of being insensitive to the plight and welfare of the citizens and residents of the gateway state saying that the economy had since collapsed and the people were finding it difficult to survive.
Miffed by the failure of Amosun to fulfill his promises to the electorates, Hon Adebayo described such attitude as grand deception and an act of irresponsibility. He queried why other parts of the state particularly the rural areas were subjected to total neglect wondering if they had ceased to be part of Ogun State.
Adebayo scolded Amosun for abandoning high valued projects like Olokola Deep Sea Port and Agro Cargo Airport among others instituted by Otunba Gbenga Daniel regime. He painted such step as not only wicked but lacking in common sense. To Adebayo, if Amosun had completed these projects would have ushered in massive development to Ogun State.
He regretted that Amosun had turned Ogun State from the first destination of choice for investors to the least destination of choice due to unfavourable policies. He scored the performance of the state government very well below average
Hon Adebayo, however, assured the audience of Hon Ladi’s commitment to improving the lives of all the good people of Ogun State in 2019. He added that a person of Adebutu’s benevolent character was what the people needed to bring happiness and all round development to the state.
Hon Ladi holds the good people of Ogun State, irrespective of economic, cultural and socio-political class, in highest regard and believes government should be for all.
Say Lado… One Nigeria… One Ogun State
