Günther Ottendorfer, CTO, Telekom Austria Group, said: “The mobile communications industry functions as an enormous innovation accelerator for upcoming technologies and services in this field. The LTE world summit taking place in Amsterdam is a hot place for all industry leaders where we can analyze key messages and gain a strong in-depth sight.
One of these messages is the crucial paradigm shift through Network Function Virtualization as both a great and challenging opportunity for operators to re-architect network elements. The other significant topic will be Cloud-based Automation to transform IT systems. It is a great honor for me to be amidst those experts, discussing requirements, expectations, challenges and defining how the face of telecommunications will be changed dramatically in the near future.”
For the first time ever LTE World Summit will be co-located with the 5G World Summit, which looks ahead to the future of 5G to ensure that leading operators and solution providers are effectively paving the way towards these future networks and understand exactly what is driving 5G, which technologies are required and what services that 5G will enable.
Cedric Gonin, Director Marketing Strategy and Development, Convergence and Mobile Services, Orange International Carriers, said; “Orange ambition is to be the leading carrier offering the widest connectivity and interoperability associated with retail quality of service, and we are looking towards LTE technology to achieve that. At Orange we are improving the service to our customers by speeding up the expansion of their roaming footprints. LTE Signaling associated with IPX Connectivity is a key element of this and forms part of an integrated suite of services including testing, roaming hub and constant destination opening. The LTE World Summit is an ideal opportunity for Orange to showcase its services around LTE roaming enablers and it also offers a useful forum to exchange with peers and mobile operators about developments in the mobile industry.”
The event will feature two focus days which precede the conference and exhibition. The Signaling Focus Day will bring together signaling experts from around the globe, from both operators and the most innovative service providers. It will be an opportunity to discuss the challenges of signaling in the Big Data era and what operators can do to maximise quality of service, while minimising costs and the risk of a signaling storm. Alongside this, the Antenna Evolution focus day will provide RAN engineers and senior management the opportunity to discover and share innovations at cell sites which are essential in the move towards LTE-A, examining technologies such as DAS, MIMO, AAS and Beamforming.
Benny Moor, VP Sales EMEA, diametriq, said: “The reason to be at LTE World Summit is making leads that will generate promising relationships in the interest of generating new business.”
The event plays host to the Telecoms.com LTE Awards 2014 which celebrate innovation and recognise achievement in the LTE community. Taking place at the De Duif in Amsterdam, the awards ceremony will bring together the experts responsible for driving LTE developments over the past 12 months. Considered a mark of industry excellence, the awards are judged by a panel of senior analysts from around the globe.
“The 2014 LTE World Summit and Video over LTE events are key forums for decision makers looking at architecture and infrastructure investments for mobile video,” said Michael Archer, director of product strategy at Avvasi. “We are excited to present case studies demonstrating the impact videos had on LTE networks in 2013, and to be recognized for our leadership in two separates categories at this year’s award ceremony.”
To celebrate the events 10th year, the organizers have arranged a 10th Anniversary drinks reception which will be attended by an exclusive gathering of elite industry executives, taking place on the first night of the event.
Daniel Dribinski, CTO Cellwize, added: “LTE World Summit is one of the best places to see and hear about the most innovative solutions in telecoms. As the World Summit celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are delighted to sponsor and participate in such an important industry event.”
