Queens Park Rangers coach, Michael Beale has come out to say that Leon Balogun’s early exit was the reason for his side’s 3-1 loss to Luton in Saturday’s Championship clash. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it was definitely a huge blow for his team when the Nigerian came off because his boys had to deal with a lot of aerial balls around the penalty area.
Beale added that losing such an asset early on in the game definitely had a negative effect on the club.
His words, “It was a huge blow because Leon has played there [right-back] a lot in the Bundesliga, Rangers and in Europe so I knew on a game like today [Saturday] where there will be a lot of aerial contact a lot of stuff in the box around set plays, that having an extra centre-half in terms of profile and size would be really important. To lose him early affected us slightly.”
