Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come out to hail Jesse Lingard for his performance vs Villarreal. He, however, revealed that the English forward did what is expected of substitutes at the club.
According to him, he expects Lingard to be unhappy about not having enough minutes on the pitch, but he is always ready to have an impact off the bench.
Ole added that the win vs Villarreal was massive for the club and he wants more positive results like that in the coming games.
His words, “Jesse was probably not happy at not playing more,”
“But he comes on and make an impact. That is what you do when you are a sub at this club.”
“It is massive for the players, to win a game in this fashion after we lost a game in Bern in that fashion. Every game is hard at this level.”
“You see results you don’t see very often, like yesterday. The margins are so small.”
