Odion Ighalo has admitted that he would find it tempting to turn down the chance of moving to Old Trafford if Manchester United came calling for his service.
The 26-year-old was referring to speculation of being linked with a move away from Watford with interests coming from clubs in Italy and Spain.
The Nigerian international doused any possibility of leaving the Vicarage Road in this transfer window but could not hide his wish to join English giants, Manchester United, if they made an approach.
“There has been speculation from Spain and Italy but I’ve played there and now want to play in England,” he told The Sun. “I don’t think I will be moving but I’m not sure I’d say no if United called. They were my team growing up. I loved watching Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke on TV. They were my idols and playing at Old Trafford has always been a dream,” Ighalo told The Sun.
However, Watford have continually stated that their Nigerian forward is not for sale.
Ighalo has been in impressive form for Watford this season in the Barclays Premier League scoring 14 goals with two assists in 20 appearances.
The striker, who is under contract till 2020 at Watford, finished 2015 as the leading scorer in English football.
