The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), yesterday held a closed-door meeting with former South African president, Thabo Mbeki, and former Nigerian military head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.).
The meeting, which lasted for one hour, was held at Buhari’s office along Jabi Road in Kaduna metropolis.
Though neither Buhari nor his visitors disclosed the purpose or details of their closed door meeting with journalists, sources said the parley was not unconnected with the March 28 and April 11 general elections.
A similar meeting was held with President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday at his official residence in Abuja. Details of the meeting was also kept under wraps.
After their over one hour meeting with Buhari and a photo session, Mbeki and Abdulsalami left for the Kaduna International Airport to fly back to Abuja.
