CHICAGO, IL–(Marketwired – Aug 11, 2014) – Mu Sigma (www.mu-sigma.com), the world’s largest pure-play provider of decision sciences and analytics solutions, has expanded its Mu Sigma University (MSU) initiative to include an advanced program called “Decision Sciences at Scale,” designed to help clients better leverage analytics for business advantage.
Mu Sigma’s intensive MSU program is required for all new Mu Sigma hires both in India and US. In the US, the firm conducts the program out of its Austin, Texas office, which serves as a training and innovation labs center. Now it is expanding the curriculum to meet the needs of clients, who identify 8- to 12-member teams who undergo the intensive, customized course.
“Our client curriculum focuses on innovation at scale and continuous experimentation, concepts that will soon become the new normal in a world where Big Data changes the way decisions are made,” said Zubin Dowlaty, one of the lead instructors and Head of Innovation and Development at Mu Sigma.
Topics on the agenda include: Demystifying Analytics, The New Art of Problem-Solving, and Technology and Math at Scale; plus lab sessions where learnings are applied to client-specific challenges.
“We had heard of many of the newer analytics technologies and mathematical techniques, but Mu Sigma brought them to life using real-life data sets and real-life business problems,” said Angela Marano, Senior Director of Strategic Planning at Southwest Airlines.
This year, Mu Sigma University will deliver 20 client programs of the “Decision Sciences at Scale” course, spanning spring and fall semesters. The schedule is already full, with a waitlist in place, prompting the company to assess ways in which more capacity can be unlocked.
