The first Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Seyi Akinwunmi has revealed that the new coach of the Super Eagles will be announced this week.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been without a coach since the resignation of Sunday Oliseh in February.
After Samson Siasia, Salisu Yusuf has been handling the Super Eagles on a temporary basis and Akinwunmi has revealed that the NFF will reach a decision on the new coach at the NFF Technical Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 21 in Abuja.
The first VP of the NFF said there will be a major announcement after the meeting.
Current handler of the Super Eagles, Yusuf has revealed he wish to be given the job on a permanent basis.
The 54-year-old Yusuf who has worked as assistant manager under Stephen Keshi, Oliseh and Siasia believes he is ready to be Super Eagles permanent coach.
“I was assistant coach for three previous managers and I have managed all the top teams in Nigeria. Personally I think it’s all about the opportunity to do it – so why not?” he told BBC Sport.
