The military of Nigeria, according to Bashir El-Rufai, son of the former governor of Kaduna State and Nasir El-Rufai, could take the city of Niamey, capital of the Niger Republic, in just 13 hours.
El-Rufai, referencing a Twitter user’s post applauding the armed forces of the Republic of Niger, remarked that while he does not pray for war, he does hope that the Nigerian military will demonstrate its might and seize Niger in less than 13 hours.
A Twitter user going by the handle @chimaobi_nteoma made the following observation: “Look at the soldiers Tinubu want to go and fight with Nigerian soldiers.”
El-Rufai responded, “God forbid war but only because of stupid videos like this do I hope the Nigerian Military showcase their might in Niger & capture Niamey in 13 hours.”
According to Infostride News, after the failed attempts of ECOWAS to reinstate the deposed President Mohamed Bazoum, the military junta in the Niger Republic broke ties with Nigeria.
Therefore, Bola Tinubu, president of Nigeria and chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, wrote to the Senate pleading for permission to use military force against the ruling junta in the Niger Republic.
