Ekiti State League of Imams and Alfas have warned Muslims against collecting Sallah rams from Governor Ayodele Fayose in protest against the ‘deliberate marginalization of Muslims’ by the Ekiti State Government. The meeting of the Muslim clerics was held o Tuesday at Anser- Udeen Central Mosque Odo-Otu, Ado-Ekiti.
According to reports, the clerics condemned the lopsidedness in the appointments of commissioners and other officials by Governor Fayose despite their efforts at getting the governor address the issue.
A statement by the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affair (NSCIA) and National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation (NACOMYO) resolved that no Muslim in the State should collect rams and other food items if presented to them in any form by the government. The statement was reportedly signed by the leaderships of the Imams and Alfa. They warned that any Muslim that Collects such rams or food items under any guise has taken Haram (Unlawful) and the punishment of the Almighty Allah awaits such person.
