The slow pace of the economy has been attributed to the 16 years of corruption and mismanagement of the country by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State said on Tuesday.
The party said these obstacles affected the smooth take-off of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.
A statement in Akure, the state capital by the APC spokesman, Abayomi Adesanya, said: “PDP’s ranting about President Buhari’s ministerial list is unnecessary, diversionary and unfounded.
“It is logical for anyone who intends to make a nearly-collapsed building habitable, to first demolish it and then lay a solid foundation before building on it. We met a virtually empty treasury and a battered system handed over by the Goodluck Jonathan led-PDP government.
“Nigeria was in a coma when Buhari took over on May 29. Anarchy and impunity were the order of the day.
“We expect Jonathan and PDP to be remorseful. They should apologise to Nigerians for ruining the country. Yet, they have the temerity to fault a government that has good plans for Nigerians”.
