SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwired – Feb 10, 2014) – Nitro, a leading provider of document productivity and workflow solutions, today announced the appointment of a new VP, EMEA, John O’Keeffe, who will lead European expansion from the company’s recently established EMEA headquarters in Dublin. O’Keeffe comes to Nitro from Salesforce.com where he spent over 12 years in a variety of senior sales roles, most recently as VP, SMB Sales for Europe.
Australian-founded with a global headquarters in San Francisco, Nitro simplifies the way people create, edit, sign, and share digital documents. Best known for its award-winning Adobe® Acrobat® replacement, Nitro Pro, the trusted PDF solution for more than 50% of the Fortune 500 and the standard PDF software preload for PC giant Lenovo®, the company also recently unveiled Nitro Cloud, a new service that provides powerful flexibility to businesses when sharing, signing, and collaborating with documents and underlines Nitro’s commitment to the paperless office, document productivity, and workflow efficiency.
“We’re thrilled to have someone of John’s caliber come aboard to oversee our business in EMEA,” said Sam Chandler, Nitro’s Founder and CEO. “With more than a decade of directly relevant experience during his tenure at Salesforce, John is a natural leader with deep knowledge of and experience in technology sales across all markets in Europe. We’ve already started building out a world-class team in Dublin under John’s leadership and are delighted to have him join the Nitro family.”
O’ Keeffe added, “I’m very excited to be joining the Nitro crew as one of the first hires in our Dublin HQ and to lead the team here as we expand throughout the EMEA region. Coming from Salesforce.com where I was the 9th employee in Europe, and a part of that tremendous success story here over the last decade, I’m really looking forward to replicating that with Nitro and creating a brand new success story. There is a massive opportunity for us to better serve our existing customers like Nestlé, Continental AG, and the European Parliament, as well as attracting new companies of all sizes that may not have heard of us yet. With the new EMEA HQ, we’re now in a position to provide truly localized sales and support to many of our European accounts that simply wasn’t available before, and further demonstrates our ongoing commitment to customer success both here and around the globe.”
The new business hub in Dublin will create over 100 jobs over the next few years, and will be critical in maintaining and expanding the momentum that Nitro has already established in Europe. The company is hiring for a range of positions, including multilingual sales, account management, customer service, and operations staff, all of whom will provide targeted support to Nitro customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Additional engineering, product, and marketing roles and additional regional offices are planned for later this year and into 2015.
