The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) recently hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the N30,000 minimum wage bill into law.
Mr Peter Ozo-Eson, General Secretary, NLC and Mr Bobboi Kaigama, the President of TUC in different interviews, described the move has praiseworthy.
Mr Peter said that NLC and Nigerian workers were grateful for the quick response of Buhari, saying this kind of move would please the people of Nigeria.
Mr Bobboi also said the step by the President came at the right time.
His words, “we in TUC want to appreciate the President for not jettisoning the path of honour”.
Buhari, days back, signed the minimum wage into law which mandates employers of labour to pay workers a minimum of N30,000 monthly wage.
The bill was passed by the National Assembly one month ago.
