A 28-year-old woman, Yemisi Ogunlana, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly cutting her husband’s manhood during an argument in the Oko-Oba area of Ogijo.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, on Monday.
According to the statement, the victim, 31-year-old Idowu Adebowale, reported the incident to the Ogijo Division at about 5:15 p.m., alleging that his wife attacked him with a sharp object.
“He reported an attempted murder case on Monday, stating that around 4:30 a.m. on October 15, during a minor disagreement, his wife, Ogunlana Yemisi, used a sharp object to severely injure his manhood,” Odutola said.
The statement further revealed that Adebowale showed officers the injury, which resulted in a deep cut near the tip of his penis.
“Given the severity of the injury and the fact that he had not sought medical help, the complainant was issued a medical form and advised to proceed to the hospital,” Odutola added.
Odutola confirmed that the suspect, Yemisi, denied the allegations during police interrogation but remains in custody.
The case has been scheduled for transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation.
The police spokesperson attributed the incident to uncontrolled anger, noting that the argument escalated into domestic violence.
