On Thursday, the State Executive Council of Ondo State voted to reinstate confidence in Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, whose position had been in jeopardy due to a conflict with his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The governor’s 33 cabinet members all pledged their continued support for his efforts to improve the state in a joint statement.
The communiqué was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Oladunni Odu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Olugbenga Ale, Head of Service, Kayode Ogundele, 16 Commissioners and 12 Special Advisers.
Akinwumi Sowore, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative, and Razaq Obe, the Commissioner for Energy, Mines, and Mineral Resources, did not sign the communique.
The cabinet members explained the decision was made thanks to the “exemplary leadership of the governor,” according to the communique received by the media.
They insisted that the state and its people have benefited much from Akeredolu’s rule.
“As Mr. Governor’s troops, we are incredibly proud to serve under his command.
Despite facing many obstacles in the past, it is inspiring to see how committed he is to protecting and serving the people of the state.
Therefore, we unequivocally declare our full confidence in Mr. Governor and support his strong leadership. Our support for Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON is unwavering, and we are committed to working together to ensure the state’s future success, as stated in our joint communique.
