A group, the Ondo South Youths Forum (OSYF), has called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to focus on governance and development rather than political battles that could derail his administration.
In a statement on Monday, OSYF Coordinator, Kingsley Omogbehin, emphasized that Aiyedatiwa has only four years in office and must prioritize legacy projects over political distractions.
The group criticized some members of the governor’s cabinet for engaging in political fights at the expense of the state’s progress.

“Dear Mr. Governor, it is time to hit the ground running and distance yourself from distractions,” Omogbehin stated. “Your impact on the lives of the people and your legacy projects will be what you are remembered for.”
He also warned against a brewing conflict between one of Aiyedatiwa’s commissioners and a serving minister in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, urging the governor’s aides to avoid dragging him into unnecessary political battles.
“We are warning the commissioner to fight his battle alone and not involve the governor, thereby creating unnecessary enemies for him,” the group said.
The OSYF further noted that Aiyedatiwa should remain grateful to the minister in question, highlighting the support he received before and during the election, particularly during the impeachment crisis.
Expressing concern over the conduct of some government appointees, the group accused certain aides of acting as unofficial spokespersons and issuing press statements outside their designated roles.
“Most worrisome is that some appointees of the governor are assuming the role of the Commissioner for Information, constantly issuing press statements rather than focusing on their jobs. This is unacceptable. We are not a ‘Banana Republic,’” the statement read.
The forum also cautioned against bringing internal APC primary election conflicts into Ondo State, urging aides to remain professional and avoid political bootlicking.
