The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of all chairmanship and councillorship seats in the recently concluded local government elections across the state.
OSSIEC Chairman, Hashim Abioye, made the announcement on Saturday evening via a Facebook Live broadcast, confirming that PDP candidates secured victories in all 332 wards and 30 local government areas.
Security Concerns Amid Election
The local government election commenced as scheduled on Saturday morning, but the process was not without challenges.
Abioye raised concerns over security personnel sealing off OSSIEC’s headquarters, which hindered the timely distribution of electoral materials to polling stations.
Despite the setback, PDP candidates were declared winners across the state.
