Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, has warned Abuja citizens to brace themselves for difficult choices in the near future.
But Wike asked locals to be patient with the government, saying that the tough choices were necessary for the city’s long-term health.
He made the remarks while hosting Philip Aduda, a senator from the People’s Democratic Party of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Zakari Dobi, the APC contender for the Senate seat in the most recent election.
I encourage citizens to be patient; we will be making tough decisions,” Wike said. The FCT’s citizens should not view this as a punishment, but rather a necessary measure.
The minister further mentioned that President Bola Tinubu has mandated the building of a road of at least 5 kilometers in length in every area council.
Wike had many unlawful structures in the FCT demolished shortly after taking office.
The minister implied that he would take back any properties that had not been built on by the deadline.
