The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly renominated Mr Ahmed Kuru and Mr Eberechukwu Uneze as Managing Directors and Executive Director of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria respectively.
This was disclosed by the spokesperson to President Muhammad Buhari in a post. The renomination which is for the final term of five years was contained in a letter to the Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan.
In the letter President Muhammad Buhari requested that the house confirm the nominees subject to Section 10(1) of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria Act, 2010.
According to the Presidential spokesperson, the President in another letter to the Senate President seek that the Senate chamber confirm the nominations of Mr Bello Hassan as the Managing Director, and Mr Mustapha Muhammad Ibrahim as Executive Director of the corporation; this is however contrary to the first letter. The letter was sent subject to sections 5(4) and 8(3) of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Mr Garba Sheu stated that Mr Bello Hassan is to succeed Mr Umaru Ibrahim as the Managing Director and Mr Mustapha Muhammed is to succeed Prince Aghatise Erediuwa as the Executive Director.
