In a 2016 interview with Refinery, the Bollywood star who plays Alex Parish in the hit ABC series, “Quantico,” stated that a female Bond should not be called Jane Bond.
“Look. It’s a story about a British guy who happens to be a white dude. There’s nothing wrong with that, whoever came up with it,'” she says.
The ex-beauty queen who believes a woman can also play Bond adds ” And not Jane. She should be James Bond, and she should be able to sell it. Why not?”
Other female actors who have shown interest in interpreting the British spy include Elizabeth Banks, who told Entertainment Weekly that she would like to play the secret agent. Gillian Anderson once retweeted a fan-made poster of herself as 007.
In a 2016 interview with Daily Star, “Game of Thrones” star, Emilia Clarke, listed playing Bond as one of her unrealized dreams.
Daniel Craig who reportedly earned £48.76M for the last Bond movie, “Spectre,” has been offered $150million by Sony to return for two more Bond movies.
