The House of Representatives Thursday granted approval to President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to appoint 15 special advisers.
The House gave the approval after it received a letter from the President requesting it to enable him appoint the advisers to help him discharge his functions.
A similar letter was written to the Senate on Tuesday. The red chamber gave its approval yesterday.
The motion seeking the House’ approval was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon. Mulikat Akande-Adeola, at a session presided over by the Acting Speaker, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha.
The majority leader noted that the President’s request and the subsequent approval granted by the House complied with the provisions of Sections 151(1) and 151(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
The motion was passed in a unanimous voice vote.
