Just three months ago Rihanna released what could be the most inclusive foundation range of all time.
Fenty Beauty announced the Pro Filter foundation that comes in 40 different shades.
Rihanna said at the launch for the product, ‘There needs to be something for a dark-skinned girl; there needs to be something for a really pale girl; there needs to be something in-between.’
Rihanna continued to push the envelope for diversity with her lip products, revealing her first liquid lipstick, ‘Stunna’ which is made to work on every skin tone.
Her campaigns reflected the representation ethos too, with models such as Duckie Thot, Paloma Elsesser and Slick Woods showcasing a range of skin tones as well as sizes.
Women, of colour particularly, around the world took to social media over the last few months to thank Rihanna for her inclusive message.
Naomi Campbell led the praise, telling us how proud she is of the singer, actress, designer and beauty mogul, ‘It’s about time.’
Now 21 year-old Slick Woods has made her feelings clear, as she penned an emotional post on New Year’s Day.
With an apparent screenshot of herself and the Fenty Beauty line under the the Googled search term ‘beauty’, Woods wrote, ‘My mom called me today and I told her she’s the definition of beauty, thank you @badgalriri for changing the game, reminding every little black girl she is and came from royalty and that all women are beautiful in their own damn way. A beautiful start to a new year and a fresh perspective of what beauty is… whatever tf you want it to be.#googlemebaby’
