SUNNYVALE, CA–(Marketwired – Aug 18, 2014) – Real-Time Innovations (RTI), the real-time Industrial Internet of Things communications platform company, today announced it is hosting a complimentary webinar titled “How to Leverage Open Architectures for Existing Systems.” Today, economic realities dictate that “new” distributed systems are almost never entirely new creations. Existing capabilities, which cannot be readily duplicated at minimal cost, are often necessary and even critical components of otherwise new systems. How we address achieving interoperability with these legacy systems, whose data and interfaces are often less than completely defined, can be a critical cost and scheduled risk item.
In this webinar, attendees will learn how the Object Management Group (OMG)’s Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard provides proven, cost effective design patterns at the protocol and implementation level, which support the bridging and/or migration of existing systems with new, open architectures. Additionally, open standards such as the DoD’s UAS Control Segment (UCS) Architecture and the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE™) Technical Standard, a standard of The Open Group, provide architecture and data design standards which support new development and provide a means for rigorously capturing the data semantics of information in existing interfaces.
