Dachung Bagos (PDP-Plateau), the representative for the Jos South/East Federal Constituency, has announced his intention to appeal the National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal’s decision to invalidate his election.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja, the legislator revealed this information.
Bagos criticized the tribunal’s decision, arguing that earlier rulings made it clear that only the party or its members may contest nominations and sponsorship.
”One has to question why this panel didn’t see these issues as election-year issues.
There are many unanswered concerns following the Election Tribunal’s ruling that went against the will of the people in the Jos South, Jos East Federal Constituency.
A victory by more than 95,000 votes to just 31,000 cast in favor can’t be an academic exercise, right?
“Democracy is for the people and with the people I will always stand; I call on my constituents and party faithful to remain calm and resolute as we seek redress in the Court of Appeal,” he said. (NAN)
