President Muhammadu Buhari has come out to say that he guarantees adequate resource allocation for research and development in the science and technology sector.
He shared this at a breakfast meeting of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) organized by the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo in his capacity as Chairperson.
According to PMB, technology is boosting Nigeria’s advancement in vital sectors of the economy and he does not intend to take it lightly.
He then added that his government is conscious of the importance of science and technology in national development, which is why he has a ministry dedicated to the sector.
His words, “We are concentrating on encouraging our students, at the primary and post primary levels, to love and study more of science related subjects rather than arts, political science and history.”
Buhari said even if he knows funding might be a problem, he is aware of the tremendous advantages that can be expected.
