Senators Ifeanyi Ubah and Uche Ekwunife have been formally presented to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, marking their official defection to the party.
The move follows Senator Ubah’s earlier announcement of leaving the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to join the APC.
The state Chairman of APC, Chief Basil EJidike, played a pivotal role in receiving the two senators into the party and commended their decision.
During the presentation, Chief EJidike praised the leadership qualities of President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the need for increased commitment from party members.
Speaking optimistically about the party’s prospects in the upcoming 2025 elections in Anambra State, Chief EJidike stated, “Year 2025 affords us yet another opportunity to contest and win Anambra State Government House.
Let us, as one family, work towards achieving this goal for our party.”
He urged the new members to maintain their positive humanitarian spirits and emphasized that the APC would provide them with a platform to contribute more to the party’s growth.
Chief EJidike assured the senators of the party’s unwavering support and cooperation, emphasizing the APC’s capacity to accommodate diverse political aspirations.
In his address, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah expressed confidence that the APC’s presence in Anambra had been solidified.
He declared, “APC would no longer keep quiet in Anambra, pretending that all was well when things are going wrong. APC has finally arrived in Anambra State.”
The formal inclusion of Senators Ifeanyi Ubah and Uche Ekwunife adds significant political weight to the APC in Anambra State, setting the stage for increased political activity as the 2025 elections draw nearer.
