Ex-Manchester City defender, Pablo Zabaleta has come out to say that Raheem Sterling is not a club legend. He recently revealed this while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even if the English forward did a great job to steer Manchester City towards remarkable success in recent years, he never reached the level of Aguero, Silva and Kompany, who are the current club legends.
Zabaleta, however, added that Sterling was brilliant throughout his time at the Etihad and he wishes him the best at Chelsea.
His words, “I think the word ‘legend’ is a bit overused in football,”
“He’s done a great job for the club. He came at a very young age and has been absolutely brilliant.
“[But] when I say legend, for me, [Sergio] Aguero, [David] Silva, [Vincent] Kompany, those guys and a different level. That is why they have statues outside the stadium.”
