Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice has come out to say that the entire squad loved Mikel Arteta’s passionate VAR rant following their defeat to Newcastle. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the team loves to see Arteta get passionate about decisions affecting the club because he tries as much as possible to live the game through his players.
Rice added that Arsenal must now return to winning ways in the league, and a top performance is needed to achieve that.
His words, “We love it. I think you see how passionate he is. He sometimes gets criticised for how he is on the sidelines, but he is living the game through us.
He’s so energetic and the way he speaks, he’s like a teacher the way he is in the changing room with us – and that really fires us up for the game and I think that’s what he’s really good at.
After the upset [against West Ham] in the [Carabao] Cup and then obviously on the weekend, a club like Arsenal, we can’t be losing three games in a row.
The manager made that clear before the game. He said: ‘We need to get back to winning ways and put in a high-energy performance’. Sometimes when you’re playing against a back five, it’s hard to break down. But in the end we kept persisting and we’ve come through.”
WOW.

The club has won 13 league titles (including one unbeaten title), a record 14 FA Cups, two League Cups, 17 FA Community Shields, the Football League Centenary Trophy, one European Cup Winners’ Cup and one Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. After conducting an overhaul in the club’s operating model to coincide with Wenger’s departure, Spaniard Unai Emery was named as the club’s new head coach on 23 May 2018. He became the club’s first ever ‘head coach’ and second manager from outside the United Kingdom.
In Emery’s first season, Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League and as runner-up in the Europa League. On 29 November 2019, Emery was dismissed as manager and former player and assistant first team coach Freddie Ljungberg was appointed as interim head coach. On 20 December 2019, Arsenal appointed former club captain Mikel Arteta as the new head coach. Arsenal finished the league season in eighth, their lowest finish since 1994–95, but beat Chelsea 2–1 to earn a record-extending 14th FA Cup win. After the season, Arteta’s title was changed from head coach to manager.
