Atiku Abubakar, who ran for president as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu has violated the law.
According to Atiku, Tinubu committed a criminal offense by providing the Independent National Electoral Commission, also known as INEC, with counterfeit certificates.
Atiku claimed, while speaking at a press conference with journalists from across the world, that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ought to have barred Tinubu from running for president.
Atiku is quoted as saying, “It’s about our reputation and the future. It’s about the kind of society we want to leave for the next generation, and it’s about what kind of example we want to set for our children and their children.”
“Incontrovertible evidence showed that Tinubu was not qualified to contest in the previous presidential election because he forged the qualifying certificate which he submitted to INEC,” the author writes. “Tinubu was not qualified to contest in the last presidential election.”
“A simple check on Tinubu’s past records would have shown INEC that Tinubu broke the law and should not have been allowed to contest the election in the first place,” the author writes. “Tinubu should not have been allowed to contest the election in the first place.”
You may recall that Atiku had taken Tinubu all the way up to the Supreme Court in an effort to challenge the decision of the Election Petition Tribunal using evidence of fraudulent degrees from the Chicago State University, CSU.
