On Thursday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, revealed that President Bola Tinubu is not just the president of the ruling All Progressives Congress,
APC, but also a leader of Nigeria. Wike said this in response to a question from the media.
When APC leaders from his state visited him in Abuja, the former governor of Rivers State made this statement. They were led by Mr. Victor Giadom, who is the National Vice Chairman of the APC for the South-South region.
On the other hand, he stated that it was perfectly acceptable for the president to have the interests of his political party in mind while he was directing the affairs of the country.
He described political parties as “vehicles that conveyed one to a desired destination,” adding that the interests of Nigerians trumped all other interests in President Tinubu’s mind. He argued that political parties were vehicles.
“Now that he has emerged, Mr. President is not the president of the APC but rather the president of Nigeria.
While the president is in charge of running the country, he is also obligated to look out for the best interests of the political party he belongs to. Nobody is able to stop that; it is an inevitable process,” he stated.
