Nigerian sprinter and World Champion, Tobi Amusan has been nominated for 2022 Women’s World Athlete of the Year. The 25-year-old, who is the current world’s record holder for 100m hurdles, made the list alongside nine others, and Nigerians have been reacting.
According to The World Athletics (WA), the list was compiled by an international panel of athletics experts, comprising representatives from all six continental areas.
Other contenders for the prize are the Jamaican duo of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson, Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon, Chase Ealey of the US, and Yulimar Rojas of Venezuela.
