The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has called on the Kogi State Government to fulfill its promise of paying the wage award to workers, aiming to alleviate economic hardships faced by residents.
Comrade Ahmed Tijani, the Kogi State TUC Chairman, made this appeal in a statement on Friday, extending Easter greetings to Christians and expressing solidarity with Muslims observing Ramadan.
Tijani emphasized the importance of the state government not only distributing rice palliatives but also ensuring the payment of the wage award to civil servants, who are significantly impacted by the economic challenges.
While reiterating workers’ commitment to supporting the current administration, Tijani encouraged them to remain hopeful, assuring that the Organized Labour will continue engaging with the government for improved conditions.
He also stressed the need for prayers for governments at all levels, considering the severe economic challenges facing the nation.
