A 61-year-old engineer, Age Ashogbon and one Prince Eshilokun, 50, a technician, were, Tuesday, arraigned before a Lagos magistrate’s court sitting at Ikeja, for allegedly obtaining money under false pretence.

The duo were brought before Magistrate Eniola Fabamwo.

The two accused who reside at 7, Odukoya Street, Bariga and 2, Danmole Street Bariga, respectively, are facing a three-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, forgery and obtaining, preferred against them by the police.

The prosecutor, Berth Nwaokoye, told the court that the defe ndants and others at large, conspired to commit the alleged offence.

He said the incident happened on June 10, 2013, at about 1pm, at 7, Amodu Ali Street Ilaje, Bariga area of the state.

Nwaokoye said with intent to defraud, the accused forged documents and signed same, purported to be signed by one Eze Edwin.

He also alleged that the defendants willfully and unlawfully destroyed an event place belonging to Eze Edwin.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Magistrate Fabamwo granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000, with two responsible sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case till March 12, 2014 .
