Neymar Junior has come out to slam the video assisted refereeing (VAR) decision to give Manchester United a late penalty in their 3-1 Champions League last-16 second-leg win at Parc des Princes.
Neymar could not stop the defeat and watched his team fumble a two-goal lead that ensured their exit from the UCL.
His words, “This is a disgrace,”
“Four guys who know nothing about football watch a slow-motion replay in front of the television.
“It was nothing! What can [Kimpembe] do with his hand while his back is turned? Go f— yourselves!”
PSG manager, Thomas Tuchel did not withdraw his support for VAR but was of the opinion that the shot that struck Kimpembe was not on target.
His words, “I am for VAR, but it feels like the shot was not on target and if it was not on target there is no penalty,”
“Penalty or no penalty, there needs to be an explanation.
“The rule is unclear. It was not a shot, but it was a penalty … OK.”
