The Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Amina Namadi Sambo has called on women religious leaders to continue to pray for peace to reign in our great country Nigeria especially with the 2015 general elections just around the corner.
She made the call when she met with the delegations of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Women’s Wing Kaduna State Chapter and that of the Federation of Muslim Women Associations of Nigeria, FOMWAN, Kaduna State Branch in Abuja.
She said, “Peace is a very important issue that we must all consciously promote. This is because it is the most essential factor for development. Where there is no peace, there will be no development.”
The wife of the Vice President later presented a Liteace bus to the CAN Women, in fulfilment of the pledge she made during their 21st National Convention which held from the 13th-16th of November, 2014 at Alheri Camp, Kilometre 31 Kaduna-Abuja Express Way with the theme “Women of courage in times like these”.
She also presented a Peugeot Expert Tepee ambulance to FOMWAN Kaduna, a donation she facilitated from the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs to assist towards emergency response to maternal and child health care delivery in Nigeria.
