PARIS ST-GERMAIN are shock new contenders for Kylian Mbappe’s signature – freeing up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a move to the Premier League, reports claim.
PSG looked like being the only major Champions League side not interested in the Monaco wonder kid as they had a £70million deal done for Borussia Dortmund goal machine Aubameyang.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been bidding for Mbappe – along with Real Madrid – in the belief Aubameyang to Paris was done and dusted.
But a change in the hierarchy at PSG – with Holland hero Patrick Kluivert losing his job as transfer boss – has thrown all the transfer options open again.
According to Bild, the four-year contract – worth £12m a-season – that was believed to have secured Aubameyang’s services has been ripped up by new PSG chief Antero Henrique, who prefers a punt on landing Mbappe.
Aubameyang appeared to be celebrating his massive summer move with a family holiday after the Gabonese star hired a private jet for his family trip to California.
But he could now be heading to London or Manchester if one of the Premier League’s big spenders decide he is a better option than Mbappe.
Aubameyang, 27, was the top scorer in the Bundesliga last season with 31 goals.
The master finisher got 40 in all competitions as Dortmund reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League and won the German Cup.
Mbappe – aged just 18 – netted 24 times in 43 appearances as he won the French title with Monaco and broke into the France national team.
