The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticized the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Adolphus Wabara, accusing him of fueling the ongoing crisis within the party.
Speaking during a media chat in Abuja on Sunday, Wike alleged that Wabara and some PDP leaders are responsible for the party’s setbacks, particularly through their actions and utterances.
The Minister condemned the push by some PDP leaders to oust the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, and the National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu, despite existing court rulings.

“If Wabara were my father, I would have disowned him. He doesn’t deserve to be a leader.
No wonder Obasanjo made a presidential broadcast about his acts of corruption,” Wike said.
He further stressed the need to adhere to the party’s constitution, stating that any resignation within the leadership must be addressed through proper elections.
“Some people are trying to manipulate the situation, but it will not succeed.
The matter is in the courts, and we should respect the rule of law. We need to focus on resolving issues within the party, particularly with the upcoming convention,” he added.
Wike urged party leaders to refrain from actions that could escalate internal disputes and called for the December convention to proceed as planned to usher in a new executive.
