It’s not news that Will Smith is from Philadelphia: the TV show that launched him into the Hollywood stratosphere mentions West Philadelphia in the first three words of its iconic theme song.
But despite being Hollywood royalty now, Smith is still a Philly kid at heart.
And he showed just that on Facebook recently by posting a poem in support of the Birds’ Super Bowl bid.
The sentiment is good, but the execution is a bit simple if we’re being picky. Needless to say, Smith is not Robert Frost but he can make a heck of a movie.
He is one of many notable celebrities rooting for the Eagles over the New England Patriots in the 2018 Super Bowl, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 and will air on NBC.
Some others include Bradley Cooper (who was in Eagles owner Jeff Lurie’s box during the NFC Championship game), Pink, Kobe Bryant, Jake Tapper, and more.
