Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has come out to say that football players in Africa should be wary of fake agents spreading promises of fame and fortune. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, footballers must be very careful who they trust when it comes to agents, because majority of them are out there to exploit clients.
Drogba added that the best agent any player can have is the performance on the pitch, since that is what clubs look at.
His words, “Please, I need you to hear this,”
“Be very careful who you trust. Never trust the person who wants your money.”
“Your best agent is not the guy you may trust, the best agent you can have is your performances,”
“This never lies. So the more you perform, the more clubs are coming to watch you play.”
“What I see is a lot of kids looking for an agent to find me a club. That’s not how it works. It’s the performance that gets the attention of the clubs and good agents.”
